Current listings of open positions are continuously available on Phelps Memorial Hospital Center’s Careers website via www.phelpscareers.org. You will find several search options that will help you narrow your search criteria to include full-time/part-time/temporary positions, by department, by requisition number and/or by job category. After selecting your search criteria, the positions will appear in order of most recent posting date. The titles of the positions are highlighted in red. To view the details of the position, please click on the title name (i.e. Practice Biller). After reading the position details, you may click on “Return to Jobs” to search for additional vacancies or click on “External Applicants Click Here to Apply.”
If you are a first-time applicant, you will be prompted to create a username and password when you click on “Apply Now.” If you are a returning applicant, you will be prompted to log into your profile. Completed applications, resumes and cover letters (if applicable) are made viewable online to the Human Resources recruiting team. The review of applicants’ credentials is done directly by a recruiter. Applications from qualified applicants are submitted to the hiring managers for further review.
New postings are added as they become available (sometimes daily) and existing postings are removed when the positions are no longer available for active recruitment.
All positions that appear on the website are still open. They may be at different stages of the interview/hiring process, but they are still open. Job openings are not removed until the hiring department is no longer actively recruiting for them.
We do not accept unsolicited resumes. Please apply online for a specific position you are interested in and for which you meet the minimum qualifications.
Yes. All applications must be accompanied by an updated resume, and cover letter, if requested. The cover letter should indicate the applicant’s salary requirement.
Yes. Your application is a legal document and it is necessary for your employment data to be included on the employment application.
If there is interest in your background, you will be contacted by the recruiter working on the vacancy. Contact time will vary depending on the availability and schedules of the interview team, as well as the date by which the department needs to fill the vacancy. You will receive an email confirmation after your application has been successfully submitted. Due to the volume of applications received, however, we are unable to contact you further if you are not being considered for a position. You may log into your account on the web page and check the status of your application. Once you log into your account, a listing of all positions that you have applied for will appear with a status noted. If you experience technical problems while applying for a position, please contact Human Resources at (914) 366-3150.
If you believe that you are qualified, you can apply to a maximum of 3 active positions. However, you will need to submit a separate application, with supporting documents, for each position that you apply for. You are only permitted to apply for a specific posting once.
You can only apply for the same position once, during the time period that the position remains open. If the position is reposted, at a later date, you may apply again. Applying multiple times for a particular position will not speed up the application process or cause the reviewer's consideration/assessment of your qualifications to change; unless you have acquired a new, pertinent skill subsequent to the last time you applied.
If the application is not displaying, you may have your pop-up blocker turned on. Disable your pop-up blocker and try again.
You should always apply if you believe that you have the qualifications and experience. You may be competing against hundreds of applicants with similar or greater experience, so it is important that your resume highlight your relevant accomplishments. Your overall objective should be to market yourself so that you stand out from the competition.
